We have communicated to Mr. Black what you there say with regard to corrections for a new edition of his translation of your work, viz that you would compare in detail the translation with the original. As the distance is too great to allow of this by a long correspondence, and as such a process would occupy too much of the valuable time of both, he suggests, as the most convenient mode, that you should make your remarks in the margin of your copy of the translation, that he would avail himself of these remarks; and the new edition should replace your copy so used.
