[1] Paris 11. Oct 1835
Dear Sir
I am much flattered by your kindness in having introduced to me, the Baron Schilling de Canstadt, who appears to have collected some valuable materials from Mongolia – and, we shall all look to Bonn – for a further knowledge of them –
My arrival here was darkened by the account of Klaproths death – which will leave a vacuum, difficult [2] to fill up, in Oriental Literature but, I am happy to say, there are many active Individuals who are right zealous in the cause – I shall be glad to receive your opinion of Mr Langlois Haravansa, of which, the 2d Livrason, will be complete before Xmas.
Our escape was quite miraulous and it is curious that it should have occurred at the first-Bridge on the [3] Valley of Munster – between Basle and Bienne – Tho not intending to return to England (unless sent for) for some months, I will write to Sir Gore Ouseley Sir Graves Haughton & others who will give Baron Canstädt the accueil He merits, both from his own success and Your recomendation –
Believe me
My dear Sir
Most sincerely Yours
Munster
