Sir,
I have the honour to acquaint you, that your letter of yesterday has just been laid before the Council of the Royal Society of Literature, and that the work which you have been pleased to present to the Society was also announced at an Ordinary Meeting of the Society which took place this day.
The Council begs your accept[2]ance of the 1st, 2d and 3d vols of the Transactions of the Society; and I have the pleasure at the same time of transmitting to you a copy of the Statutes of the Society and of the last Annual Report.
The Council accepts with pleasure your proposal to maintain its literary communication with members: they will be happy to receive such Letters or Papers as you may please to address to them through the Public Post, or by any means which you may find safe and Convenient.
