[1] Cadogan Place Sunday
19. Oct. 1823
My Dear Sir
You should have had your Papers much sooner if I had not had a relapse which I hope You have escaped. I have freely corrected what I thought defective in the very excellent Translation of
your Prospectus.
Pray tell me immediately when You mean to go to
Oxford that I may arrange matters for your Reception before you set out. The Honour of England is interested in the due Respect shown by that University to such a Man as You [2] Houghton has the merit of Strongly feeling what is due to You & may on that account deserve the Honour of another Visit of which He is ambitious. I hope the Invitation for Staël has been sent to Your Lodging. –
I am My Dear Sir
Ever most faithfully Yours
Mackintosh.
