half past 10
AM.
Sir,
I regret exceedingly that I should have been absent yesterday when you did me the honor to call at my house. I did not return till late in the evening, when I had the pleasure to find on my table your obliging letter, together with the valuable, and, to myself in particular, interesting present; for which please to accept my best ackowledgements.
I shall be in the
library at the East India House this day from one till three o’Clock; and I anticipate with pleasure the interview you have been so good as to propose; in the mean time, permit me to assure you of my great esteem, and to subscribe myself, Sir,
Your very obedient
Humble Servant
Charles Wilkins
NB
Should this day not suit I shall be in
the library every other during the week about the same time.
